Liner Notes:

As a spinoff of a Song Write Inn collaboration game, @coolparadiso asked if I would put these words http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/33833 to music. I was really moved and edited them just a little bit and to fit how it felt in my head.

Lyrics:

remove chords
Its Time For My Redemption
Open A7/E no third tuning EAEGAE all one-finger barre/slide chords

Verse
So what if
It all comes down to this
Nothing else
This time this minute this opportunity.
This will change it all
Never be the same again
Its time to make the right choice
Its time for my redemption

Chorus 1
Do i go or do i stay
It ain’t easy to choose
No time to dwell
No escaping the familiar dissonant clanging bell

verse
It all seemed so much easier once
Had all resources we’d need
But as they slip away I’m hesitant
Doubts are sowing seed
So why here why now
Why pick me
Choices to make before its too late
Its time for my redemption

Chorus 2
If I turn I can’t go back
It ain’t easy to choose
This one last chance
To escape the familiar dissonant clanging bell

When the past path to paradise
Is taken over by poison thorns
And I dig bare-handed
Until my uniform is pungent, bloody and torn
When I can’t stand my own skin any more
And remember all of my sin
I pray for a hard rain to wash me pure
Its time for my redemption

I like the imagery and feeling in the lyric. The thorns are especially vivid. I like the downward 7ths used in the verses and the rise at the end of the chorus. It's a nice bookend musically.
