Lyrics:

If you asked me
If sometimes I don’t want you around
I’d probably tell you that’s ridiculous, now
Of course I want you, always need you

But honestly,
sometimes I dream about flying away
Leaving you in Boston as I travel across the states
I know its bad
I shouldn’t say that

I could never leave you
But I wonder if I would, if I knew I could.
Cause although you’re all I have,
I can’t stand to be near you sometimes,
and it’s draining all the life and energy right out of me

I’ll stick around
Cause I never wanna fall back down,
It won’t be gracefully,
The second time’s always the worse for me
I know I’m sitting still, but it’s better than slipping constantly
And now I feel like I can breathe,
I wonder, is that a good thing?

Am I really shallow if I’m tired of your laughter?
It’s like a bunch of needles in my brain.
And I know that I should be happy, I’ve got someone who loves me, and I think I feel the same.
But love’s not what I need

I’ll stick around
Cause I never wanna fall back down again,
It won’t be gracefully,
The second time’s always the worse for me
I know I’m sitting still, but it’s better than slipping constantly
And now I feel like I can breathe,
I wonder, is that a good thing?
I wonder, is it a good thing?

The internal conflict of the narrator comes through in the varying styles within the song. Nice!

Great guitar tone, like a guitar stuffed into a tiny herring can.

The lyric is interesting. I need you. Sometimes. Other times not. I dream of flying away. I'll stick around. But you're draining my precious energy.

Lots of contrast, the song has high energy, but the protagonist is a person in turmoil. Cool character sketch.
