Stop Subsidizing

Liner Notes:

Inspired from online new and posts lamenting about subsidies. Although I did tone down the lyric I had to record and post it before I changed my mind since I normally shy away from political songs. I'm sure the political tag will spur at least a couple of folks to listen to something else. That and post forty something with a couple weeks to go.

Lyrics:

remove chords
Stop Subsidizing
Open D6 no 3rd tuning DADABD [chord shapes]

Stop subsidizing buses and trains
Its what those people ride
A billion dollars last year and we all paid

Chorus 1
We just want to drive alone in our fossil fuel powered cars
Burning gasoline feeling free
Its cheap and there’s plenty today
Scientists are fooling us about climate change
Cause its a real car and burning fuel is the American way
So stop subsidizing giving them a free ride

Stop subsidizing electric cars
Just a tax rebate for the rich anyway
A billion dollars last year and we all paid

Repeat chorus

So maybe by now you’re thinking the subsidy for buses, trains and electric cars is kinda steep
And a burden on the working middle class, if thats the case well then

Stop subsidizing fossil fuel
Level the playing field for electric cars, buses, and trains
600 billion a year in subsidies most of it goes overseas

Chorus 2
We can’t afford to drive alone anymore in our fossil fuel powered cars
Burning gasoline isn’t free
Long term there’s a price to pay
Scientists are not fooling us about climate change
Cause its all transportation and America needs alternative ways to go from point A to point B
So stop subsidizing

Not seeing the recording but definitely lyrics in line with your overall theme this year-- and well-written, in my opinion.

i like the oddball music and unconventional sound tones. a fine addition to the electric car hymnal,
