Great Window

Great Window

Liner Notes:

When it's good to watch life from a window

Lyrics:

Look at games young ones play
Wide smile shine on a face
Too young to see what's bad
No long looks full of sad

Watch out as cute dogs bark
Tails wag when life's a laugh
Full days fired up with fun
Back flip tricks in the sun

Yeh these are the things I can see
From where I sit inside comfortably

View a world
From a great window
Paintings sold
Frame a great window
It's my face
at that great window
Someplace safe
at that great window
My own base
At that great window
Can't replace
That great window

Lifts me
To see
How pleased
The people are
How fine

Lifts me
To feel
How free
The feelings are
That shine

Look out at nature play
Bright birds chirping away
No cares in their bright life
Out the shade to the light

Yeh these are the things I can see
From where I sit inside comfortably

View a world
From a great window
Paintings sold
Frame a great window
It's my face
at that great window
Someplace safe
at that great window
My own base
At that great window
Can't replace
That great window

Lifts me
To see
How pleased
The people are
How fine

Lifts me
To feel
How free
The feelings are
That shine

Good life is an invite
So I'll join them tonight
Out of here join the show
That's where I want to go

Yeh these are the things I can see
From where I sit inside comfortably

View a world
From a great window
Paintings sold
Frame a great window
It's my face
at that great window
Someplace safe
at that great window
My own base
At that great window
Can't replace
That great window

Lifts me
To see
How pleased
The people are
How fine

Lifts me
To feel
How free
The feelings are
That shine

Nicely framed (ha!) lyric. The image of the great window as the portal through which you see that there's still good in the world is appealing to me.

I like the idea of the narrator as an observer through the 'great window' and some nice lyrical details on what's being seen. I also like the last verse where observer decides to become participant - "Good life is an invite / So I'll join them tonight / Out of here join the show / That's where I want to go"
