Liner Notes:

For The Almost Daily Writing Prompt, "Nervous Energy". I started off recording audio from random Youtube videos into Ableton Live for about 5 minutes. I then took little snippets of audio and create loops or sample-based instruments.

Lyrically, I have been in some dark places in the past but I am feeling in a much better place. It was powerful to reflect on where I have been and how I have grown.

Lyrics:

I’m an anxious freak
With spinach in my teeth
Am I so transparent
That everyone can see?

Between the lines
A brittle smile
On the verge of collapse
It’s been a while

Since I’ve imploded
Exploded
I’m holding
It all in

Imploded
Exploded
I’m holding
It all in

I’m living on the poles
My feet in the snow
Following the North Star
But walking in circles

On the eve of defeat
The taste is bittersweet
The wine down my windpipe
Offers sweet release

The empty glass shines
Like an all-seeing eye
But I’m desperate
And It’s been a while

Since I’ve imploded
Exploded
I’m holding
It all in

Imploded
Exploded
I’m holding
It all in

really unique use of sampled sounds as a pad for melodies. the lyrics are strong, clever, and to the point. everything adds up to a dreamy rumination on nervous implosion with the nervous energy in the background and a relaxed coolness in the foreground. the outer facade and the inner chaos.

I like the soft, edgy feel. The vocal gets the emotion across well. I like the double tracked bits. Cool that this is built from sampled audio, sounds very coherent. Nice buildup to the end. For some reason the first verse, with spinach in my teeth, is kinda my favorite.

Very creative usage of Sound snippets. This has a circling feel. I like it

What a cool way to do a song and it worked wonderfully! Excellent work!

I've had my own problems with anxiety. It's interesting how you took sound snippets and expanded and manipulated them, like a musical reflection of how an anxious mind can latch a hold of something and expand, worry and fret about it. This is really cohesive and I really like the way the music and the lyrics work together. Well done.
