prompt up in flames

Thanks corinne54 for the incindiary prompt. This was a tough write lyric wise. It's not done but rather than bang out another verse or two just to take up space, I'm just going with what I have so far.

Lyrics:

Up In Flames

I looked around
Seemed we had a good thing goin'
'til I made the mistake
Of turnin' on the radio news
I heard about
How everything was goin' wrong
Got me thinkin'
I better update my views.

Ch
I started playin' with fire
Love to watch it burnin' higher
The blaze was like
A beacon in the night
The more I thought about it
The less my mind could doubt it
It started out just playin' games
'til it all went up in flames

I logged on
To a political website
They had the answers
To all of the questions I had
Told me how
I could help to make it all come out right
So I signed up
No way it could turn out bad

Ch
I started playin' with fire
Love to watch it burnin' higher
The blaze was like
A beacon in the night
The more I thought about it
I couldn't live without it
Nothin' left but takin' aim
As it all goes up in flames

Love the sound of this -- your chords and drum pattern give the lyrics a classic jazzy rock vibe that is a great platform for the insightful lyrics and important message. Thought provoking and timely response to the skirmish!
