Liner Notes:

my friend facebook chatted me yesterday from under the English Channel. So this had to be written.

Lyrics:

"bonjour c'est moi
talking to you from my car
mais oui c'est me
online in my car on a train in a tunnel under the sea"

what's that?! i cry
you mean you got wi-fi?
comment can that be?
online in your car on a train in a tunnel under the sea

c'est incroyable c'est fou
les choses that they can do
la technologie conquers
it is absolument bonkers

tu parles avec moi
and je parle avec toi
i can't believe that you're there
en ligne dans une voiture sur le train dans un tunnel sous la mer

c'est incroyable c'est fou
les choses that they can do
la technologie conquers
it is absolument bonkers

online in your car on a train in a tunnel under the sea
en ligne dans une voiture sur le train dans un tunnel sous la mer
online in your car on a train in a tunnel under the sea
en ligne dans une voiture sur le train dans un tunnel sous la mer

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

Oh this is fantastic! I have been taking some online French and this made me smile and be wowed too!

wonderful in so many aspects. the idea itself, the several phrases of the fina chorus line, the integration of the languages, . the jaunty melody. the sunny performance. i really enjoyed listening to this one.

So great, Wobbie, on so many levels.
Hilarious lyrics, really nice vocals, and a wonderful drunk-at-3am vibe.
I think it's crazy, too, this whole modern life thing with the Wi-Fi everywhere, tunnels under the water, all of that stuff.
Nicely done!!

Love your stuff! So British and so pleasing. You rock! Oh dag...my computer is jerking me around...Oh...OK back again... I love the French as well. Incredibly good!

Ahhh, c'est merveilleux! Et maintenant je me rappelle de Monsieur Miles Kington, whose "Let's Parler Franglais!" column in Punch was a must-read for me in the late 70s/early 80s. Parfait!

This is a total singalong and should be heard in a crowd for maximum effect. I can't imagine anyone this wouldn't appeal to.

I wish I could leave some witty comment in French, but for now I am left with only English... Using the English language, I shall say this song is truly magnificent!

C’est magnifique! As well as fun its clever and well produced. I have my moments of social commentary but you are the real McCoy. all hail!

Je l'adore. It's really tres formidable! Great idee. Parfaitement realized!

Tres bien! Just what I needed this morning - always appreciate a song that finds a bit of wonder in our rotten world.

I like it you sing in French in here. Actually a very nice and sensual language, I'm reminded of it again. I especially like how the long lines add to the fun and sing-alongness of it all. Thanks for sharing!

That is just so sweet and delightful. I loved it. What else to say? When I lived in France in the late 80s I spent hundreds of dollars so I could stand in a phone booth and talk to my girlfriend back in the States. It's amazing how quickly we adapt to this new world, forgetting the old. It is bonkers

Wow look at all these wonderful comments! What a great song - you had me smiling from the opening. I spend a lot of time in that tunnel going to visit mum and dad in Normandy. My French is totally crap though but you sound great singing it. I did a similar song with Arthur Rossi called Denglish which was a German English mash up song. Clever stuff. Great song start to bonkers!

I don't know any French. but I enjoyed this song. Nice one!

Really fun and sing-songy in a "Yellow Submarine" kind of way. Love the accordion (?), which adds the requisite Frenchness, and the bilingual singing. Great title as well!

I love the franglais mash and the rhyming in both languages...but also conquers/bonkers Biggrin This made me smile so much. Love the accordion groove.

a great sunny song, maybe the accordion and the French helps. We surely need more of these!

Alright! Chunnel rock! I like the French / English collision. Absolument is a beautiful word. Oh, and the accordion is perfect.

Nice crossing from English to French! Given some of the content of your other songs and the word Sea I was waiting for the rhyme that would likely be my fate in the tunnel --- I am pretty sure I would have to pee midway just because there would be no opportunity to... but no you did not go there, and yeah, I probably should not have. In any event this is a delightful song and I love the smash up of English and French!
