Liner Notes:

These lyrics took a little tweaking and working until I found the right style for them. I wanted to portray the precious moment of anticipation and bliss of a first kiss and so ran through lots of trials before I settled on this.

Lyrics:

THE FIRST KISS
(c) 2018 Cooper/Jones

V1:
He’s been a-watchin’ you
You been a-watchin’ him
You don’t know what to do
But then he steps right in

V2:
He’s got a way and a style
He seems quite confident
With a winnin’ smile
Pays you a complement

CH:
The first kiss is bliss
You’d never wanna miss it
The first kiss is bliss
You’re powerless to resist it

V3:
He’s got clear blue eyes
And snake like hips
And a faint taste of whiskey
On his lips

His voice is low
His hands are warm
Can you really say no
When he offers you his arm

CH:
The first kiss is bliss
You’d never wanna miss it
The first kiss is bliss
You’ll be powerless to resist it

CH:
The first kiss is bliss
You’d never wanna miss it
That first kiss is bliss
You’re powerless to resist it

the touch of cantorial melody in the verses lends a fascinating variation to the blues-based ballad, and your chorus makes an excellent transition into traditional country pop.

thats a different pace. Pretty guitar. then wack into the chorus and back! nice timing

This has a sensual sultry feel. I love the change up between the verses and the chorus. Very effective - by the end you had this lesbian craving a kiss from that guy with snake like hips.
