Liner Notes:

i belong to a worldwide group of music listeners. we share music from the last 70 years, we have eclectic tastes and we have a prompt each month and post songs that meet that prompt either in the title or in the lyrics. i get to hear some great songs - some old favs and some i have never heard helps expand the mind

they asked me as a gift for the owner of the site to write a little anthem for the group which is called Itchycoo Island.

Lyrics:

Itchycoo Island

Where do you go each evening
To share some inspiring tunes
Over the top of the hillside
And down through the sandy dunes

Down onto the beach below
Between the swaying palms
Welcomed by your good friends
All with open arms

Come to hear good music
Glad to be on dry land
Sharing all the best music
Here on Itchycoo Island

Sittin Around the fire
Everynights the same
Listening to classics
Watching the fires flame

Talkin bout times gone by
Our hopes our likes our fears
The songs that make us laugh
And those we shed some tears

Come to hear the music
Glad to be on dry land
Sharing all the best music
Here on Itchycoo Island

Always know another version
Know whose birthday is next
Know every line of lyrics
Of the writers text

Listening to every style
Those that lift your Soul
Stimulating all you senses
Leaving you warm and whole

Come to hear the music
Glad to be on dry land
Sharing all the best music
Here on Itchycoo Island

This is so well written and has an island and different musics. Intriguing!

Love the idea of this virtual island. I like the trumpet solo, the reggae beat (perfect for the subject), the mellifluous vocals and the late-night feel. As Bill White said, "I want to live on that island."

This sounds like a lovely group to belong too and you paint a nice picture of belonging and warmth, friendship.

So glad I found this reggae gem! Such a tasty delivery, from the lyrics right through the horns and drums. We come to hear good music!

I really like the laid back reggae style and the inviting imagery. Sounds like a nice place to be!
