Gwyn and I challenged each other to a set of 4 'place' songs - country, town, universe and earth. These are my country lyrics and Gwyn's music.

Lyrics:

MAN OUT OF THE COUNTRY
Cooper/Jones
(C) All Rights Reserved 2018

I was raised in honest mud
I grew taller in the rain
And it was in the country sun
That I rose up to be a man

My fingernails were dirty
And my jeans were always worn
But it was that sweet country air
That gave me life when I was born

You’cn take the man outta the country
But not the country outta the man
I don`t need to say I`m sorry
Because that is who I am
Who I am…

I was drivin`an old truck
Before I ever owned a car
But it was on those country roads
I learned how not to go too far

I only knew the quiet
Stars at night don’t make a sound
But it was in those country hills
That my voice I fin`ly found

You’cn take the man outta the country
But not the country outta the man
I don`t need to say I`m sorry
Because that is who I am
Who I am…

The city has it’s charms
That’s where I met my special girl
But now she agrees with me
That bein` in the country is best place in the world

You’cn take the man out the country
But not the country out the man
I make no apologies
Because that is who I am
You’cn take the man out the country
But not the country out the man
I make no apologies
Because that is who I am
Who I am…

I always love hearing your songs - fantastic country sound and perfect country lyrics. The chorus and its hooks scream new country classic!

Yup hes right in his sweet spot singing this. Good writing, production and delivery.
