Liner Notes:

The first line just came into my head, so I thought I'd carry on and see what happened.

Lyrics:

Matteus Ingelsson wrote this song
he wrote the words he wrote the rhymes
that led him to this simple tune
he was the prison he had fled
and he could not live inside his head
as alone he slept
inside his bed

Matteus Ingelsson was a son
who had thought his mother strong
until he'd woken in the night and found her
crying for a life she hadn't lived
and so he took this page
and he took this pen
and wrote this song

Matteus Ingelsson wrote this song x3

And he went backwards
to the well that always always
held the water that cleansed his soul
and he sat and wrote, yes he sat and wrote
words that took him to the end of the line
but still he heard her cry
oh yes he heard her cry

So Matteus Ingelsson wrote this song
and left it lying here half sung

I really like these lyrics. Your presentation is enjoyable. Good song.

Interesting enough lyrics that I had to GOOGLE the guy. Didn't find anything. So...okay. Nice tune in any event! Smile

Love the idea of making up a name and then singing a song about that imaginary person. Last line is particularly compelling ... "left it lying here half sung." I really identified with "he was the prison he had fled and he could not live inside his head." I often feel like that! Guitar and vocals are lovely (and even slightly upbeat!). Do you know this song - "this tune was composed by Spencer the Rover ..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OojjFb0jruk
