metalfoot sez: I ran across this lyric (*30815) earlier today and thought, this is a good lyric. I can do something with this. So I did. Hopefully what I did is good. Thanks, Deanna, for trusting me with your lyric!

Lyrics:

I moved and we were sure
Distance would be a breeze
We’d talk. We’d text and we held out
‘Til our moments came to be

But I could tell the difference
I could feel your thoughts a drifting
Your doubt you tried to hide
Your feelings I felt shifting

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
But my absence’s made your heart just ponder

I so often wonder
If you want another love
Do you long for someone else
Am I still who you think of

But I can feel a difference
I can feel your thoughts a drifting
Your doubts harder to hide
Are your feelings for me shifting

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
Has my absence made your heart go wander

I heard the news today
Another lover you have found
How quickly you recovered from
Separation’s shaky ground

I knew I saw a difference
I could feel your love a drifting
Your doubts you did not hide
Know your love for me has shifted

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
And my absence made your heart go yonder

nice job on bringing these lyrics to life. i think nearly everyone has suffered this narrative, and both the lyrics and music recall those tortured moments. as for me, i now wonder what i was thinking back in those of tortured romanticism.

I enjoyed the words as well as the demo. Excellently done!

I like the lyrical angle, using absence as the crux. And I like the melodic shape and vocal delivery. It's fun when you find two people you like collabing.

Deana’s lyrics are superb, they paint a great picture of long distance love and it’s perils. The delivery and music brings it to life. To me, I could feel the sadness of you starting out positive only to come to the final break up and moving on.
A brilliant collaboration
