Liner Notes:

Here we go! This one is NOT sad! And I absolutely love it! It would be fun to sing live.

This is probably my last full production song for awhile as I'm getting busy with work. Super skirmish is a coming and that means an hour here, an hour there, acoustic guitar, maybe a beer!

well I was about a hundred miles from Nashville
and the storm was crashing down
when I saw her on the side of I-65
in a rained out wedding gown

I pulled over and she hopped right in
asked where she's going
said she don't know yet
but put some music on
we'll see where this thing ends

just give me Waylon and Willie
Kanye can kiss my ass
if you try to play some Justin Bieber
I'll take a pass
and I never cared much
for rhinestone suits
or classic country noise
give me Waylon and Willie and the boys

we played every single one of my 8-tracks
and we smoked all of my stash
we played some Waylon, Willie, Kris and Jessi Colter
and a whole lotta Johnny Cash

she told me how she almost got married today
but when the wedding march started
she just slipped away
decided to be an outlaw
til her dyin' day

just give me Waylon and Willie
Kanye can kiss my ass
if you try to play some Justin Bieber
I'll take a pass
and I never cared much
for rhinestone suits
or classic country noise
give me Waylon and Willie and the boys

she was an outlaw
I'm an outlaw too
playin’ outlaw music
til we’re old and blue

just give me Waylon and Willie
Kanye can kiss my ass
if you try to play some Justin Bieber
I'll take a pass
and I never cared much
for rhinestone suits
or classic country noise
give me Waylon and Willie and the boys
just give me Waylon and Willie and the boys
just give me Waylon and Willie and the boys

yeah
why don't you check the glovebox
we might not a...we might not a smoked all that stash
there's some more in the...right over there...yeah...right under the...yeah...right under the bong
and there's a whole box of 8-tracks that we didn't even touch yet
David Allan Coe...Kris Kristofferson...oh my god
we got music enough to last us all night long

A really nice constructed song. could slip that on any number of airwaves and it would just slip in beautifully. Really nice song yes and not sad. Oh and i love the little guitar interlude.

haha... You got that right John, no Justin Bieber! This is so "group sing-a-long" friendly. I can see why you like it so much!

This is fantastic! I love it - the refrain is really funny and well phrased. And the ending too!

Great song. Really fun and love the message. Go outlaw country!

Yes! "Kayne can kiss my ass"! Excellent stuff. I really like the second verse where you picked it up the pace lyrically, it's a really fun song!

Ah, I love it! Super classic sound, and your lyrics made me laugh out loud! Great sing-along song, too.

excellent writing and super production. everything fits together as it should, with a few surprises,,like the change in tone and color on the bridge. really fine. hearing all thse names gets me nostalgic for y southern days, sunday jam sessions outside the country store in shakerag tennesee,,,,,country music just isnt what it used to be. we should stage a revolution and bring it back. i like the girl in the song too. reminds me of a weekend in a van where where everyone was paired off, and there was no escaping the fact of her and me. great singing as well. you soumd really good in full production mode.

This has the feel of old-time country dance (Oz style) in the local hall. Foot-tapping and listenable. I like those slightly snide remarks about rhinestones, puts that little edge on the good-time song.

I'm always up for some rollicking honky tonking, and you nail it here. I love the way you spit out those lyrics. I like this low register in your voice. Chorus is pretty damned catchy
