It Was You

Liner Notes:

This is only half-finished. I started the demo some time mid-5090 and somehow lost interest. But I uploaded it for the sake of having something to present. All guitars and vox are improvised first takes. The end section will possibly be fleshed out in the Album Production challenge.

It's intended to be the 9th song for my album "Secular".
After critizising Religion so much I took the perspective of someone who found god.
I had to think of a street missionary who told me his story. His 3 yr old son was hit by a car and flew meters onto the ground, and like a miracle he had not one serious injury. The missionary took that for a sign and henceforth dedicated his life to praising god who had saved his on.
Still between the lines you can (or can not) see my point: I think the concept of an invisible power who determines everything that happens is scary and it leaves us at the mercy of that entity. That leaves you with no choice in life and no possibility to take your fate into your own hand – except by obeying this strange set of rules that were established over 2000 years ago ...

Lyrics:

I saw the meaning of life
saw my wrong and the right
I have seen the light, and I feel it too

I saw your miracle was
saw your infinite grace
through the sign that you gave

And it was you
and it was you
I don't want anything to
I don't want anything to happen again
I don't want anything to
I don't want anything to happen again

I saw the ultimate bliss
saw the powerlessness
You made all that there is, and you made it well
I saw your invisible hand
you made me understand
I am at your command

Yes it was you
and it was you
I don't want anything to
I don't want anything to happen again
I don't want anything to
I don't want anything to happen again

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

Loved that! So full and complete. A pleasure on the ears too. Loved the electric guitars.
