Liner Notes:

I felt the need to write after so many lost their lives last night. When will it stop? Can it ever?

Lyrics:

Another Massacre
© 2017 Cindy Prince

It's not just about the guns
But about the violence
I don't want to write this
But I can't stay silent

Before the killer was known
Some were blaming the left
Said he hated America
Or that he was damn Mexican

Chorus
I can't wrap my head around this
A mass and random killing
Such a horrible impossible act
I can't wrap my heart around this
But I am more than willing
To try to end the violence in its tracks

Bridge
I have to ask, and I never like to assume
But how can a man carry ten guns into his motel room?

I don't have the answers
But I have so many questions
Somehow we all have to get on board
Find the reasons for so much aggression

It's not just about the guns
But about the violence
I don't want to write this
But I can't stay silent

Repeat chorus

Good write.

More needs to be written.

From what I've heard, and I guess we all hear different things, -- whenever we dehumanize, as has happened, e.g., since 2016 in our country (as I heard it explained) "this" becomes more possible, --total stranger killings..., killing "them", "those", "those who disagree with me", and that makes it OK. As in this countries history..., "we" didn't kill men women and children we killed "Indians" and etc. The worst "mass killing" in America (?)...eh maybe not, rather, in the 21st Century. Whole towns, villages, "tribes" were wiped out in prior centuries. It's not a new thing, we seem to be reverting, -- not "progressing".

-- We need to get back to liking people not exactly like us. So, I guess I may consider a song too. Unfortunately, no one will really hear it. Apparently, no one "listens" anyway.
