Whew...it is always a rush to complete something in such a short time. Enjoyed the skirmish very much!

met you at the funeral
of your daddy one July
gravestones on the hillside
touched the sky

you nursed me one September
as I rode a great white horse
in my brain and through my veins
it ran its course

we were busy with our demons
occupied with making do
but in the meantime
girl I fell in love with you

held you one December
as the cold took you away
looked into your blue eyes
turning gray

you pulled me from the fire
put me straight upon the path
showed me how to smile
and how to laugh

we were busy with our demons
occupied with making do
but in the meantime
girl I fell in love with you

I never thought that anyone could love me
you never planned a life to slip into
but somehow along the way we found each other
in the meantime girl I fell in love with you

we were busy with our demons
occupied with making do
but in the meantime
girl I fell in love with you

we were busy with our demons
occupied with making do
but in the meantime
girl I fell in love with you

AMAZING, John!! My wife is sitting next to me, totally amazed when I told her you created all of this in less than an hour!
You have much to be proud of here, John.

This is a very thoughtful and thought provoking song. A well crafted lyric. Reminds me of James Taylor somehow. Nicely played and sung as usual.

Wow! As I've come to expect from you, incredible singing, picking, and storytelling. Sometimes, I think the time constraint of a skirmish makes a clearer path to a great song. This, my friend, is a great song.
