Full Moon Fever

V1
I once had a friend, and his psyche was frail
His emotions were horribly shattered...
Each day he would hide, till the dark of the night
In the darkness it seemed nothing mattered...

V2
The balance of life, like the edge of a knife
Cuts into the good and the evil...
The night has its rules, and a long list of fools
As an owl swoops down for a weasel...

Solo

Ch
Full-moon fever, the brighter you shine
The further he feels left behind me...
The brighter you glow, casting midnight shadows
Of a man crying wolf - dying gently...

V3
In day light we struggle to climb man-made hills
At night they all seem much less steeper...
Time cycles slowly for no man at all
And some day we'll all meet the reaper...

V4
A dark sky at night helps to renew the soul
From a madness the sun loves revealing...
Society is dead cause it never resets
And it's worse with a full-moon receding...

Solo

Ch
Full-moon fever, the brighter you shine
The further he feels left behind me...
The brighter you glow, casting midnight shadows
Of a man crying wolf - dying gently...

This is really wonderful, both lyric and music. the lyric is haunting and has many great images... and the music and demo sound fantastic! love those long dobro solos .. one interesting choice in the music is how the chorus branches out from the verses more and more into a different key (or something?) - by the end of the chorus I'd love to have an instrumental that cylces thru even more unusual chords before dropping down back to the verse chords (ie, another way of saying i love what you did musically with the chorus, i'd say, do even more! if that makes any sense!)

great job, all around!

I understand why you wanted to do this wonderful lyric! I just love the music and your incredible vocals John! Super collab!

This is just unbelievable the amount of work you put into this, John! The extended plays in between the verse and chorus, and your treatment of the whole song, including your vocals, feels like a production that should have taken weeks. Thanks for taking these words and making ear-candy with them.

Fantastic collaboration! I love the well written poetic lyrics that have such rich natural metaphors. And John your guitar and vocals are truly superb. Wonderful use of space and phrasing to let the words sink in. Really gorgeous!

This is a really special collaboration -- a superb and rich lyric wrapped up in incredibly tasty music and vocals.

Interesting collab! oneslowtyper's lyrics are quite packed with imagery and storytelling which can be hard to deliver if they're not your own but if anyone can do it John can! Loved the musical backdrop to this too John. Good work guys

Fantastic collaboration guys. I hope you both agree to make it a joint song, it works beautifully together. Brilliant lyrics, music, singing, playing and demo.

Ah. Now that is nice. Loved that banjo. Suited the rather dark lyrics. Reminded me of doolin and dalton from the eagles. Great collab all the way round.

Intricate lyrics, I like all the references to the dark nights. And the performance is excellent, especially the guitar!
