Liner Notes:

So I have no idea what I'm going to write. Just finished reading the article about lack of V chord in modern music. Sitting outside drinking ice water. Listening to music that is improvised around one tone (ie A @ 444 hz) for over 20 minutes. Watched a John Gray message w my wife. Highway noises, wind in the palms. Still nothing jumping out at me.

I've been writing my lyrics directly to this page, saving and editing as I go. So if this song feels strangely incomplete, it's probably because I'm still in the middle of writing it.

Unfortunately, demos have not been happening this year. Still nothing. And now I have a title. And I'm saving.
1st verse. Saving.

Matching rhythms between verses is always so not fun when it's not a steady beat. And mine seldom are. Got a chorus instead. And a bridge. Saving

And whatever. I think it's finished.

Lyrics:

Meditating on the roar of cars on distant highways.
Watching the breeze dance through the palm fronds
Smelling hot brown dust rising off of the pavement
I've got nothing and I'm okay with that

I've got nothing and I'm okay with that
Nothing that I think I own is gonna last
Staring at the clouds, watch them drifting past
I've got nothing and I'm okay with that

Meditating on the gravel underneath my slippers
Feeling the sun bleach out my tshirt
Tasting beads of sweat dripping off of my forehead
I've got nothing and I'm okay with that

CH

And the shadows in the grass point me where to go
Countless years and miles til I get home
Sweating on a lonely narrow road
That I have chosen
