Liner Notes:

This is my Anti to @wobbie wobbits synthesised song in the chain that is the Aunty Sin game. I had to write a wholly opposite song to hers: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/22411 I hope I've done it justice!! Now I've done that I get to listen back to everyone's in the chain before me to see the morph take shape. I got lucky to follow wobbie in the chain as we have done lots of collabs in the past and work well together.

This style of cringeworthy writing isn't in my comfort zone (happy happy joy joy) but imo had to be done in response to the predominantly cynical doom and gloom for all humanity song that was the one before this. Biggrin

Lyrics:

LOVE CONQUERS ALL

Love conquers all
Love conquers all
I know coz I have seen it and seeing’s belief after all
Love conquers all

We are strong
We are better
when we all bond together
we are warm
we are kind
when we all take the time

It makes me proud
Makes me happy
To say out loud that we can be
more than friends
we are family
Standing on common ground

Love conquers all
Love conquers all
I know coz I have seen it and seeing’s belief after all
Love conquers all

It gives me hope
Gives me comfort
To know that you’ll be my brother
Take my hand
sing it with me
as we stand

Love conquers all
Love conquers all
I know coz I have seen it and seeing’s belief after all
Love conquers all

I know what I used to believe it was wrong and I know I lost faith in us all
I know that we’ve all let somebody else down, it’s easy to live in the past
Open your eyes
Look around

Love conquers all
Love conquers all
I know coz I have seen it and seeing’s belief after all
Love conquers all

Great rhyming scheme, works, like it Smile The vocal modulations "make it". So, for an "exercise", -- is a useful song as work product outcome... nice when that happens!

I'm an even bigger fan than before. You've got the guitar chops and I love, love, love the vocals. Keep going!!

I know this isn't really your style but it's a good thing to break our comfort zones and play around with alternative styles of writing, you know?

(and I got vibes of some of "Thank U" era Alanis Morissette from this song too, so that's not bad right?)

def anti my song! good job too, haha, I like the understated performance, really nice guitar and vocals that gives me the sense of a big power ballad that could be performed by one of those big voiced divas with an orchestrated backing and chunky confetti. also I could imagine a (maybe TOO cheesy) key change up at the end... too much? dunno, i think it could handle it Wink

Oh, well done! It's a great "anti" to Wobbie's song, and it stands nicely on its own, too. (These days the world can use a few "happy happy joy joy" songs. Smile ) Really nice performance, too!

Thanks for writing this. I wish I had listened to the melody a couple more times before writing the synthesis. You gave me a lot of happy warm family kine imagery that was a nice balance to Wobbie's end of the world stuff.

Great antithesis! I especially love your rise. Such an interesting metamorphosis from the original!

Ha! I so enjoy the Auntie-Sin game. A great Anti-Song, and while it is a bit over-the-top on the optimist scale, it's very sing-a-long-able and has that anthemic quality that we all love. Great performance, thanks for playing!!
