This was from, I don't know when... I have a "scrap" pile and an almost scrap pile... and this one waffles in/out. It's been re-written several times and feel there's something there. I am not even sure if it was ever demo'd, but could have been. I usually am pretty good with noting that stuff. In another revision, it may have been. There was significant changes... but the same song, so to speak, not "derived" to this as totally different, --FYI.

At this point, I feel what it may be is that it needs, beyond demo recording, -- I hear heavy drum kit and multiple vocals, one strong female in this "style"... keys. I think that's the potential I "hear" and why I don't let go of it.

So, as far as "demo"... I think it's fixed as-is -- what difference would "anything" do!? A word, chord shift, etc... -- nothing.

I have many hand notes on the sheet as I read it NOW, as just done (you'll hear my phone whistle at me again, and folks outside the window in the street at the end... --I love those sounds so leave 'em). They comment dynamics and the, I note it's a I VII IV progression... it may be, not sure anymore; yup, I guess it is. It's an unusual klunky modulation that has "something?"... eh, who knows. Nothing earth shattering... not as it is.

-- Anyway, I like it! And would sing it around a camp fire with a little Redemption Rye Wink

-- It needs something, but can't place it... ideas?

Also, this being #12 I guess, and backing up to the whole "theme" thing... for an album in the "Pre-2017-5090 discussion board"... I think I'm nearing that end for "tone" as theme, etc.

I have 12 or 13 *more of the *older-older work, re-work, finish it agenda --that I have here, with some others who noted that endeavor and would flag as not "just now 5090 written" as per that discussion. It would be nice to have "Sections" in this SoundBoard demo release... --don't want a second account to separate them either, so, oh well.

I don't think, if they make it here, --they fit as the prior do, due to time-frame period when engaged or last engaged tone comments.

Also, though I may write a song... that doesn't mean it should see the "light of day". However, as we also discussed, I may not hear that "gem", get the feedback-comment to transform it if don't put it out for review. Well, we'll see. Thanks for the comments to date!

Lyrics:

E D A
If I… if I could love…
E D A
Could I… could I love you…
E D A
If I … if I felt love…
E D A
Would I… would I feel you…

Chorus:
C D A
When Mercy comes
Will I know it’s You
When Mercy comes
G D A
Will it be like… you…
Will it be like… you…
C D A
Will it be like… You

E D A
What would… what would my content be…
What would… what would my life show…
Would it… would it be you…
Would we… would we be too…

(Chorus)

E D A
If I… if I could love…
Would I… would I love you…
If I… if I walk with you…
Will you… will you love me too…

(Chorus)

This was a scrap? Good golly, man, don't throw that away! I can feel the emotion in the lyrics alone. Haven't listened yet, but going to. Haven't figured out yet how to listen to SC and get directly back to the post--have to pull up 50/90, go to songs, find the song, enter the post and then comment on what I hear--real pain in the bass! So be right back!

In a regular Browser, you configure it to DO OPEN A NEW Window, not stay in same. Then Tab back. Sometimes stated as "always open new tab, for new link clicked" or other. Even phones usually default to that, --Tabs.

I guess I could try stream, but don't think that "private" thing is overcome yet. If "this" site masks any part of the URL, it won't work. I think it chops part of the SC domain when checked last year. It is, what it is, --that's what it is.

The sound is totally NOT what I was expecting, but I like it. I sort of expected a touching soulful longing sort of feel, but I was delighted with this more hopeful, upbeat, easy to want to sing along rhythmic turn. Catchy!

This song has got a good radio rock feel to it, especially in the chorus - very nice! If you're asking what's missing - the only thing I can think offhand is to add in some bass and drums. We know you already know how to do that with your other song, "Cell Phone Ring." Would that still be considered one take (the tag you have up there) if you had to do separate tracks for other instruments, even if one take each? Eh, doesn't matter. Sounds great regardless. Smile

Powerful, intense, desperate - this rocks! Great marriage of acoustic thrash and growling, pleading vocal. Good stuff.
