Jago Says It's All In The Wrist

Liner Notes:

This is a morph of @AndyGetch's song "My First Hat Trick" - http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/20947

A morph is when someone changes or rewrites approximately 50 percent of someone else's song, so that some elements of it are still there, but other elements are different or new. In a morph chain, this happens over several iterations.

I really dug Andy's rhythm guitar strumming so I kept that mostly intact... and I tried to grab some of the imagery that jumped out at me, sometimes re-wording it. I really don't like my singing on this one though... *sigh*. I guess I was going for like a Lou Reed-ish non-singing, in an alternate universe where Lou Reed was not very good.

Lyrics:

grade ten, small and weak again
can't run fast, head in the grass
picked on, picked last
pushed around pacifist
won't even make a fist

Jago says pick up the stick
out in the field
Reynoldsville
purple walls in the panther pit
it's all in the wrist
it's all in the wrist

grade ten, small and weak again
can't run fast, head in the grass
picked on, picked last
pushed around pacifist
won't even make a fist
no bag of tricks
help to fix this

no bag of tricks
help to fix this

just give it a flick
it's all in the wrist
all in the wrist
all in the wrist
all in the

Great guitars and bass. Interesting theme - I was waiting for the young pacifist to go postal.

I enjoyed your vocal treatment on this. Hockey fan here! Nice job!

Yeah, you've captured the Lou Reed vibe well. The repetitive driving rhythm is kind of hypnotic. Nicely done. Not entirely sure where I go with this, but I'll think of something.

I dig how the singing is there again after the guitar solo. Just so cool and smooth. Great bass slides and glides too, with a great heavy sound to it. Just very nice how this came together.
