Where The Old River Flows (Larry W Jones 07/16/2017) (song #7200)

Where the old river flows I no longer know
I remember the rush that rippled the hush
But it's far from me now, I lost it somehow
Someday I will go where the old river flows

Old river, old river, oh let me return
To where still all my early memories burn
And where I used to dwell with my lovely belle
But that page is closed where the old river flows

Now, I have been told where the old river flows
There’s a bridge that’s been crossed by love that’s been lost
But I yearn to return though it might be burned
Love songs I’ll compose where the old river flows

(Instrumental)

Old river, old river, oh let me return
To where still all my early memories burn
And where I used to dwell with my lovely belle
But that page is closed where the old river flows

Now, I have been told where the old river flows
There’s a bridge that’s been crossed by love that’s been lost
But I yearn to return though it might be burned
Love songs I’ll compose where the old river flows

Love songs I’ll compose where the old river flows

"Old river, old river, oh let me return
To where still all my early memories burn" are simply brilliant lines what a picture painted with those. GREAT WORK!

I really like the bridge and love lost line. This lyric is set up very nicely and I love the use of the old river as the anchor to this lyric of lost love.
