I liked the idea of the weekly challenge, so here it is...
If anyone likes these lyrics and would like to put them to music, I would look very forward to it…

Lyrics:

Graduation day (needs music)

We were young, yes, we were teens,
did not know life could be mean,
that is true, yet I can say
we felt like kings in any way
on Graduation day…

A dime was fine,
the wine sublime
from her lips I kissed away
on that Graduation day…
on that special Graduation day…

(Chorus)
Graduation day…
We were happy, come what may,
and the sorrows
of tomorrow
were so far away…
she was mine
and we drank wine
on Graduation day…
on Graduation day…

Since then thirty years passed by,
she left, and I wonder why –
in fact it is just too weird,
but thinking of that summer-flirt,
I still see her mini-skirt…

And wine´s still wine,
and wine is fine,
yet it does not taste the way
as on Graduation day…
as from her lips on Graduation day…

(Chorus)
Graduation day…
We were happy, come what may,
when the sorrows
of tomorrow
were so far away…
she was mine
and we drank wine
on Graduation day…
on Graduation day…

A nice nostalgia song, with the minor details of an event thirty years gone by ringing far clearer than three decades of disappointment. I enjoyed this.
