Let's Get Awkward

Liner Notes:

Looking for a fun country rock kind of collaboration

Lyrics:

V1
sometimes I notice
you smell better than
fresh baked bread
then for some reason
I can't get you
out of my head

sometimes it's crazy
how you make me want
to dance and sing
then for some reason
thoughts of you
paint everything

C
so...
let's get awkward
let's start to kiss
let's think what the hell
why don't we just try....
some of this

yeah..
let's get awkward
let's make a mess
let's wake up tomorrow
not able to explain...
any of this

V2
sometimes I notice
sparks fly when you're
too close to me
then for some reason
it's not close enough
as I want to be

sometimes it's crazy
how you look
into me so deep
then for some reason
I imagine you
naked when I sleep

C
so...
let's get awkward
let's start to kiss
let's think what the hell
why don't we just try....
some of this

heck...
let's get awkward
let's make a mess
let's wake up tomorrow
not able to explain...
any of this

B
yeah we have been good friends
we know wrong from right
but let's forget about all of that
and let's get it on...
get it on tonight

C
so...
let's get awkward
let's start to kiss
let's think what the hell
why don't we just try....
some of this

yes...
let's get awkward
let's make a mess
let's wake up tomorrow
not able to explain...
any of this

Hilarious lyrics. Can hear a cowboy sing them to me on a late night smokey bar. Great linear and wrapping use. Coool

Oh this made me laugh, and at the same time realize how well it is written! Love it!

ROFL That is so funny! "Let's get awkward." That's just the greatest ever!

You totally captured the vulnerability of sexual desire and exploration. Lovely job!

Tremendous fun - it's a bit naughty, of course, but the performer could either ramp up that aspect of it or, I think, with an appropriately light-touch make it almost innocent in its good-natured flirtatiousness. I am 100% sure this will be an absolute charmer when made into a demo.

Coy and innocent seem to merge, and it's delightful. Every time the words "for some reason..." appear it gets funnier. Well done! I agree with O.G. about the flexible tone.
