Looking' for the Blues

Liner Notes:

A last gasp before the 50/90 ends. Sadly, I barely pulled a FAWM out of the challenge this time around. But this little drop D blues has been in me head since early in the challenge when it was inspired by this thread:

http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/content/looking-blues-challenge

I was able to sneak the #week12 challenge in while I was at it.

Lyrics:

I wasn’t looking for the blues
I wasn’t looking for the blues
I wasn’t looking for the blues
When the blues found me

On the twelfth hour
On the twelfth night
On the twelfth month
After twelve loving years
I wasn’t looking for the blues
When the blues found me

I wasn’t looking for the blues
I wasn’t looking for the blues
I wasn’t looking for the blues
When the blues found me

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

I really love the violin against the great blues groove! Really fantastic blues feeling. Vocals are superb! Love this!

Love the atmosphere here, so laid back and lovely, I've enjoyed listening to your bluesy song. It made me smile. Cool lyric and delivery and I love the instrumentation. Brilliant playing and singing. Love the violin part but everything works a treat.

Such a wonderful, timeless feel - this could be the soundtrack for a saloon scene in an old movie, or performed in a modern-day coffeehouse. Spirited, soulful and seamless blend of vocal, guitar, fiddle. It's easy to notice the fiddle because it's not the usual blues instrument, but upon closer listen your vocal range is awesome.

Nice smoky feel to these blues. Definitely a live road house feel. You brought a lot of blues to this challenge. At one point, I thought you might be channeling Leon Russell, and that is good thing.

Well, the lines lay it out there, but so much more is said by your delivery and playin'! Wonderful performance brings it alive. I like the conviction in the vocal as it goes where it "needs" to go. Well done!
