Another @McTown collab. Thank you David for a wonderful lyrics. I tried to make a more modern rock ballad but the organ sound puts this firmly into retro late 60's category. I just can't help myself! Smile

Lyrics:

One Motel Too Many by David L Graham

They say hearts need fuel to burn
they say love needs hearts to ache
Only if these two heart could turn
back to those sweet, early days

when we were players
new to the game
but now it's plain..
plain as it can be

One Motel Too Many
One day's today
we're here, but not there
One Motel too Many
No secrets left
no need to understand
One Motel Too Many

You say what's gotten into me
you say why can't we go on
show me a night with sweeter heat
isn't our love still good and strong
Oh, we were players
new to the game
but now it's plain
plain as it can be

One Motel Too Many
One day's today
we're here, but not there
One Motel too Many
No secrets left
no need to understand
One Motel Too Many

we didn't kill love..
but we didn't feed it..
we didn't believe it..
we didn't seize it

One Motel Too Many
One day's today
we're here, but not there
One Motel too Many
No secrets left
no need to understand
One Motel Too Many

What a lovely collab! The lyrics are extraordinary-the music perfect, and the vocals-just wow!

Nice collab, good lyrics and a great 70's AOR ballad arrangement, great keyboards, nice guitars, probably one of the best vocal performance I have heard from you. Really like the ending, it's a bit cheesy, with the bongos and chime and all, but works great in the context.

Really liked the lyrics 'we didn't kill love.. / but we didn't feed it..' says a hell of a lot in not many words. The musical setting is excellent and I concur with Mt, Mélodie about the quality of the vocal performance. A really successful collaboration.

Nice and mellow and 70s-ish ... love the organ and the shimmery guitar. Agree with Mr Melodie about the great vocal. Lyrics are strong and well-crafted. (I particularly like "Oh, we were players/new to the game/but now it's plain/plain as it can be.) Chimes a nice touch at the end!

Wonderful feel to this song . The hook conveys so much meaning. Clever! And Klaus, your melody and vocals deliver it so well. Love the lyric in the bridge as well. Fantastic collaboration!

I like the title. And the lines in the lyric each have a lot of meaning. Especially like: "They say love needs hearts to ache"...and combine that with the bridge and it all comes together so nicely. Klaus' music and vocal contain the emotion behind the words in a very sensitive way. I like how the chorus builds and your vocal soars. Wonderful collab!

Songs like these remind me of the likability of your voice. Also, you sure know how to put lyrics into a song, kudos!
