Liner Notes:

On my drive to work, I round a bend and see a mailbox marked 1543. Then I turn left and pass a street called Shadow Drive. That's how I got the title hook.
Then in the least favorite chord progression thread, there was some mention of one-chord songs. I've done a bunch, but those usually use variations on the chord - G, G7, G6, etc.
For this one, the guitar is one chord and one finger shape only - A minor. And the harmonium is variations on the A minor chord but all using the root notes.

Lyrics:

1543 Shadow Lane
Grew up there, but could not remain
On 1543 Shadow Lane

1543 Shadow Lane
So comfortable and plain
1543 Shadow Lane

1543 Shadow Lane
Rode a bike to the theater on Main
1543 Shadow Lane

1543 Shadow Lane
Distant whistle of a train
1543 Shadow Lane

1543 Shadow Lane
Can’t go back, just not the same
1543 Shadow Lane

Ah, good take on the Week 8 challenge. It's funny how the muse strikes in the unlikeliest of places. For you a mailbox and a street name. Love it Smile

i was really hoping you would do the one chord things after reading that thread, I may have to try it. this has all sorts of atmosphere to it. nicely done. this is cool.

I too was hoping to hear you do a one chord song. I think the additional instruments and backing vocals add lots of interest to this. Has a bit of spookiness about. Like that address is haunted or something, but the lyrics don't really make it sound that bad. Smile

Great job with the week 8 challenge and making an interesting monotone song. It reminds me of remembering random addresses or houses from childhood that don't even exist anymore except for memories inside your brain.
