Liner Notes:

I got out 8 hand percussion instruments for this one, and managed to use six of them.

Lyrics:

You know, it just makes sense
To have some arguments
You know, we will shake hands and hug
Break some bread, drink down a jug

Yeah, you are a friend of mine
Through rain and shine
Over bottles of wine
Yeah, though we fight sometimes
Wake up to find
You are a friend of mine

Yeah, you are a friend of mine
Call me anytime
You feel like laughin’ or cryin’
Yeah, as the years unwind
Our ties still bind
You are a friend of mine

You know, you ain’t that far away
I feel you to this day
You know, it just makes sense
To think of you in present tense

Yeah, you are a friend of mine
Once we were blind
Now we see the sign
Yeah, now and for all time
Wake up to find
You are a friend of mine

Great lyrics. I like the theme. You know you are really good friends when you can argue one minute and then be OK the next, because you're that close. Love the percussion breakdown! I have some hand percussion I've never used. You may have inspired me to pull it out.

A good one to sing around the campfire, --glug, glug, glug, in 4/4 time : )

Oh, I like the cut-and-a-shave Bo Diddley groove you got going here. Chorus is nice and easy to sing along. Lyrics have honesty and openness which is charming. That and the percussion give this bit of a children song kind of feel which is nice although the lyrics are deeper than that. Could also work with some rocking music too.
