Liner Notes:

When I was sixteen I had a crush on this beautiful girl at the school. It was obvious I didn't have a chance, but in my dreams we were together. In those dreams I saw other guys being jealous of me and teasing me because I was the more ordinary looking compared to my sweet girlfriend. Now I think it's funny how accurate that daydream was in that sense. Smile

This lyric started as a Week 1 adjective title ( Good, Good, Good ) but changed into something else. I'm still considering it a Week Challenge song.

Lyrics:

Everybody's Falling in Love With My Baby

What a girl
what a girl
what a girl
that is what they say

Lucky you
lucky you
lucky you
if you make her stay

They don't know
they don't know
that she's not going to stray

Why won't they let it drop?
How can I make them stop?
Oh no, oh no!

Looks like everybody's falling in love with my baby
but she's loving me and I love her
we just couldn't be more happier

Looks like everbody's falling in love with my baby
She will never ever leave me behind
coz she couldn't be a cheatin' kind

I know when I got a good thing
a good thing for good, good, good!

What a pair
what a pair
what a pair
what a sight to see

So unfair
so unfair
so unfair
she goes out with me

But she's mine
but she's mine
forever, obviously!

Why won't they let it drop?
How can I make them stop?
Oh no, oh no!

Looks like everybody's falling in love with my baby
but she's loving me and I love her
we just couldn't be more happier

Looks like everbody's falling in love with my baby
She will never ever leave me behind
coz she couldn't be a cheatin' kind

I know when I got a good thing
a good thing for good, good, good!

Oh how adorable! Love the story behind it-the beat-the style! Makes me want to dance!

That's fun and upbeat. Very danceable, and just a goo 'ol time.

Good times, nice rockin' tune... feels like classic beach music/old school new wave. Almost Elvis Costello-ish.

The feels are great! I especially like the little touches, like holding the note into the bridge, and the multiple vocal tracks on the 'good, good, good'. Captures the style of an era. Smile Nice job!

metalfoot nailed it with the Elvis Costello comparison - musically this would fit right in on 'Armed Forces'. The Farfisa drives this along brilliantly and the lyrical repetitions help propel things forward even more. So catchy!

I like the surfy '60s vibe this one takes on with it's low guitar and Doors-esque keyboard. The verse melody and pre-chorus are very early Beatles to me. I really love the ascending harmony on "good" at the end of the chorus. Fantastic, catchy song!

When I saw the Farfisa tag I knew this was going to be good. But that chorus is so infectious, can't help singing along. The back story mirrors a situation of my own in school too. This great 60's vibe is just what I needed to start my Summer off Klaus! Thanks for sharing this little gem!

Holy moly, that intro hooked me immediately!
A perfect slice of mid-80s power pop.
Yeah, this one made me smile.
Wonderful catchy songwriting, and the perfect intrumentation to go with it.
That Farfisa line is like candy for my ears.
Quite the ending, too!
Excellent!

Well that just really drew me in from the start! Very well crafted tune, great chorus hook!

"Perfect pop for now people!" that was on the sleeve of a Nick Lowe 7" single I once had. Seems just the right words for this. I'm probably not going to write any songs for 50\90, as I just get over involved, and I can't do that at the moment, so just a quick visit to say hello. Love the song, sounds great!

I liked the use of the bVI chord in the prechorus.

Edit: I also dug the verse and the hooky guitar riff.

Oh, yeah! So much goodness here - and so many generations of rock and roll covered. Exuberant fun - but I worry that the singer is too attached!

Lots of happy pop here. Catchy and infectiously fun. The repeats are really hooky.
Enjoyed my listen. Thanks for visiting my work.

Love that retro keyboard at the beginning and then the Farfisa-like one. This is REALLY catchy and grooves along like a racecar. Reminds me of NRBQ in their quirky pop glory ... bursting with good feeling and humor and rock and roll spirit!

Love it! Very poppy, don't know how you do it. The farfisa (I admit I had to google it) sounds fab! And quirky lyrics, a love song with a wink.

See? Exactly the sort of yummy stuff that I might otherwise miss! So highly energetic and what a great ascending melody for the first line of the chorus. It really sticks with me; very very catchy!
