Just a quick post to say thank you.
I've gotten comments on here that mean more to me than anything that people I actually know have ever said.
I just want people to know that I truly do appreciate you taking the time to listen to my posts, and then bother to say something/anything about them.
During the week, I have such low energy after work...I just shut my brain off with some mindless gaming usually. I don't even make music during the week anymore.
So I am sorry that it takes me so long to comment/listen to your stuffs. I just don't have the mental energy to engage during the week.
And then when the weekend comes, I'm usually trying to blast out some songs.
Yeah...blahblahblah excuse excuse yadda yaddas.
I do try to get on here sometimes during the week though, and manage a few comments.
But, seriuosly...thank ya'll! I sincerely feel awesome after every comment. Not used to such things.

I'm with you about the comments here meaning more than what you hear from people you know in person. When I perform - infrequently, these days - I sneak in a few originals and maybe one or two people will notice. And what they have to say is usually along the lines of "cool song," or maybe they offer a few hand claps.
As for low energy at the end of the day - I'm with you. I bet a lot of us are. Fortunately, I am at my computer working from home a few hours a day, and I jump back and forth between working and listening/commenting.
At the very end of the day, I'm watching sports or Star Trek re-runs.

I admire those of you who do actually perform. Something I have no intention of doing, but kinda wish I could. I know people do it, but I'm not sure how I COULD perform out - my stuff is made on the computer. I suppose I could watch people that do the same stuff as me, and learn how they play live. But...i'm not a get-in-front-of-people person.
I sit at a computer for work, too. Unfortunately, my job is one where they track everything I do and I have quotas, so I can't really take the time to comment. And my memory doesn't allow me to say "oh yeah I wanted to say blahblahblah on track x" later.
Dude! I'm currently rewatching TNG all the way through! Great minds... lol

@splittybooms -- I don't mind if you don't return comments. I just love what you're doing and I hope you keep on doing it!

Yeah. If it weren't for the supportive culture here I certainly wouldn't be where I am now. I get the occasional very vague encouragement from my actual friends, but not like here. It's frustrating because a lot of my friends are performers and songwriters themselves. They're happy when I show up to their gigs, or comment on their art or music, but few of them ever seem to be able to return the favor. I think I could count on my fingers the number of friends who have shown up to one of my gigs, even when they're in their own back yard. Some friends, huh? Thanks for being there everyone!!!

@katpiercemusic
Although I don't play gigs, I feel you on the lack of return when it comes to support...
Its family with me. I don't really have a large circle of friends, but the ones I do have, I get the same vague encouragement you mention.
Every now and then, there's more. But...bah...lol
What does it even matter really...I dunno...

I'm more than blessed in the amount of comments I've received. Yes some songs have 1. But others are in double digits. And I almost doubled my previous high in the number of songs I posted this year. So, I too, thank everyone who has commented.

And splittybooms ... it was a serious pleasure to listen to some of your music this year. Thanks.

Ditto over here. Very thankful for all comments and no worries on not posting extra comments sir, I think everyone has really participated in a meaningful way.

Agreed about comments.
You are all lovely, thank-you! <3 <3
