For each week of 50/90, we post an "official" challenge. Take them as inspiration if you want; it's always interesting to see the variety of takes on any given challenge. This thread is for the list of all the weekly challenges. There will be individual threads for each week's challenge to allow for discussion and links.

Week 1 Challenge: Special Occasion
Write a song for or about a holiday or other special occasion. Examples: “Alice’s Restaurant” (Arlo Guthrie), “Birthday” (Beatles), “Graduation Day” (Four Freshmen).

Week 2 Challenge: Advice
Write a song inspired by, asking for, or giving advice. Examples: “Dear Abby” (John Prine), “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” (Baz Luhrmann), “You Learn” (Alanis Morissette), “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” (Rolling Stones).
Tag the song Week2

Week 3. Arpeggios. Use some. Examples: “Fallin’” (Alicia Keys), “More Than A Feeling” (Boston), “Clocks” (Coldplay), “Someone Like You” (Adele).

Week 4. Rooms. Mention a room in your song or title. Examples: “Mirror in the Bathroom” (English Beat), “Smoking in the Boys’ Room” (Brownsville Station), “In Your Room” (The Bangles), “In My Room” (Beach Boys).

Week 5. Anadiplosis. Use the last word or phrase of one line to begin the next line. Examples: “Glad You Came” (The Wanted), “Love Letter” (Bonnie Raitt), “Mockingbird” (Carly Simon and James Taylor), “Supper’s Ready” (Genesis).

Week 6. Imperative. Put an imperative in the title. Examples: “Get Up (I Feel Like Being a Sex Machine) Part 1” (James Brown), “Stand” (REM), “Don’t Stop” (Fleetwood Mac),
“Take It Easy” (Eagles).
