WAV to MP3 conversion utilities for OSX

Can anyone recommend a free or low cost utility to convert WAV files to MP3 on a Mac computer? Not iTunes. I really would love something that I could just right click, add my metadata, convert it, done.

I have a new Mac laptop that is replacing an old PC laptop. I use Ableton primarily, which does not export as MP3. On the PC, I was using Audacity to convert my files, but it seems silly to install it just to do that conversion, since I don't use it for anything else.

I don't know anything off the top of my head that only does that conversion. Besides the free Audacity, Rogue Amoeba's excellent $29 audio editor Fission also can convert WAVs to MP3s (and add / change metadata), but that's obviously a lot to spend just for the conversion capability if one isn't going to use it for it's main audio editing purpose.

Ableton themselves recommend Max: http://sbooth.org/Max/

Looks like there are a few tools. You can use garageband as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJyvSpgL-5E&ytbChannel=talkingdigitaltv

Audacity is pretty simple/straightforward, plus you already know how to do it.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I ended up installing the LAME mp3 encoder and created a Mac Automater workflow to add the option to Finder. It's described in detail in this blog post I found: http://music.digitalhobbit.com/post/13666964867/easily-convert-audio-files-to-mp3-on-mac-osx

I did something similar for adding the mp3 tags using the id3v2 command line tool.

It was a bit of work to get things set up, but the end result is a really simple workflow for converting and tagging.
