Want to Trade Your 50/90 CD Album by Mail, When 50/90's Done?
Does anyone want to trade CDs of the 14-or-so songs that go well together on one disc? It was great to be able to give the fawm 2011 album to people. I know we could download our favorites and burn our own CDs, save postage, etc. But I still like holding a round piece of plastic received in the mail.

I'm not sure I follow what's going on here. I thought you had to buy the Fawmpilation disc. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something here. Fill me in please.

It's simple. I send you a CD of some of my songs from 50/90, and you send me a CD of yours. No money exchanged, just trading music.

yeah i am theoretically in for this, however since my CDs are also available as downloads (many of them free) at http://calumcarlyle.co.uk/ i'm not sure sending them to people in the USA/Canada/New Zealand would be all that sensible, but hey...
On the other hand i do have a huge number of songs from 5090 and FAWM that i have never done anything with, and that people often annoyingly ask for, so i can send you a ~79 minute selection of those if you like.
email me in september, please, anybody interested in a CD swap. (the contact form on 5090 is fine for this, or the contact link on my bandcamp page goes to the same email address).

TomS, if this were the Oregon Trail, I'd say your pony died of dysentery. 
Similar to Calum and others, my music is mostly downloadable. I have a new EP on Bandcamp, and 2 albums (one solo, one with Fendertele71 as The Really Good Pot Roast) up on itunes and Amazon, but we put those up there to raise money for the America Heart Association. We're going to take them down and make them free when the next renewal comes around.
I don't have any nicely packaged physical discs, but I'd be more than happy to burn those to CD and share/swap them with any body, if interested.

Wow - a modern take on a cave painting of e-i-e-i-ohippy-us is exactly what I was going for. Hmm. I better find the artists' version of the 5090 challenge. I have untapped potential I didn't know about.

Imagine if you could get a zip file of all the downloadable songs from 5090... Or even all the songs from one person. I'd use that.
But still, there's something nice about a proper CD.

So, how are we going to make this happen? Are we voting for a CD or a downloadable EP (?) of the best songs?
If we're going with CDs, I'm happy to collate addresses, perhaps I'm a google doc we can all have access to? I.e. You send me an email (via the Contact on my profile) with your address, I'll add it to a Google sheet and give you access. Better yet, I might make a form so I don't have to copy and paste.
If we're going for downloads, perhaps just share the link here? Although I can feel that many are going to stop coming here soon...

I think they decided to mail a disc with burnt versions of your best (and/or favorite and/or whatever) 10-15 songs to each other. So that we have something physical to hold. Most of us have downloadable versions of our songs (except maybe one or two songs *evil grin*) that anyone can grab.
I'm in, btw. No idea which songs I"ll pick, but yeah... I'm in.

Yeah mailing burnt versions seem to the best way. Downloads are nice, but I'm much more likely to listen something I have physically. Plus it just feels more personal.
@TC, no problem on the collab. There's always FAWM, or who says it even has to be during 5090/FAWM?

Colour me joined, most of my demos are collabs, but now I'm not trying to write a song every 2 days I should have time to record some of my own into something a little more listenable.
And... reciprocal non commercial permission granted to all of my collabs in case it is a concern

In the interests of getting this moving, if you've stated you're in, please email me your postal address. I will collate it, with your email address, in a shared document for all others interested to access.
When you've finished your CD, you can check to see how many are interested and make a note that you've posted, so we know to expect it.

Calum - I was thinking about that too. It would be theoretically possible, but it would involve a lot of bureaucracy and co-ordination. It would also probably involve some people spending a lot more than others. Let's see how many people sign up and then think about it!

This page tells you what to do if you want your track titles and stuff to show up when someone puts the CD in their computer. Just makes it easy for those of us who might rip the CD to iTunes or whatever.

Thanks @talking dogs. I downloaded a freeware program mp3tag or something similar. Really easy to add/edit the tags of mp3 files, means they show up in Explorer window an iTunes automagically.

Shipping? No, I'm not nearly that organized. But I have painfully pared my list down to 18 tracks, which is probably too many still...
And I've done some "covers" for the CDs, in my own inimitably cheap style. I may be ready to ship this weekend.
