Are we still called that?
Anyway, as you may know, I'm from the Great White North. Live in the wilds of the Canadian Shield (some of the oldest bedrock in the world) making crazy music from the front room of my 110 year old house (a room that originally was a front porch LOL). Post-FAWM, I got my hands on a new MIDI Foot Controller (a Behringer FCB1010) as a 10-Year Employee Loyalty Present from my day-job (working for the local Municipality as a Lifeguard & Swim Instructor). I've spent the last few months setting it up to control my DAW of choice: Jeskola Buzz (www.jeskola.net/buzz) & experimenting with the possibilities it now opens up for me. I'm looking forward to exploring its integration into my methodology throughout 50-90. Candle's "Live-To-Tape" methodology is back with a vengeance!
Where are all the other Canuks at?
See You In The Shadows…
Candle once again we form Team Northwestern Ontario for another 50/90. Can't say I've heard anyone call our country that name before though.
I guess I'm dating myself, then LOL. The term was first coined by Newt Gingrich back when he was the Speaker of the US House of Representatives in the late nineties.
Good to see you here Kurtis!
See You In The Shadows…
It's older than Gingrich's use of it. Pat Buchanan, who is just as detestable IMHO, used it a few years earlier. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Soviet_Canuckistan
Soviet Canukastan lol.
I don't care what they call us; I'm just glad to live here.
Greetings from Manitoba!!
I knew it was one or the other. Couldn't remember who said it first LOL

Greetings Metalfoot! How are the Metalfootlings?
See You In The Shadows…
Bored, to be honest. The school shutdown was not ideal for them. But we soldier on!
@metalfoot, my son and I are taking a basic electronics course online, so we are soldering on while soldiering on! My apologies I could not resist the pun...
@TomS, that was good
See You In The Shadows…
hah.....am way south of there, but Soviet Canukastan brought back some memories and made me laugh
@Candle I've been intrigued by those foot controllers, have played with one briefly, but didn't pull the trigger buying it(been some years), am excited to hear how you molest the poor thing
Glad I made you laugh @dzd
Yeah, I've spent the past few months bending it to my will. It's at a satisfactory state right now (controlling Jeskola Buzz, my Mobius VST Looper & an amazing VSTi Synth from the late-great H G Fortune), but I'm sure as I play around with it, my setup will keep changing/expanding. Especially as new Buzz machines are released that might change the way I do things. It's certainly brought my playing style way closer than it has ever been to the setup I've always dreamed of.

@Candle That's awesome, got a new little toy I feel in love with myself a keeley loomer pedal, got me lost in reverby reversy delay/fuzz heaven for awhile.........will probaby be finding new sounds with that thing for years to come
need to rewire my expression pedal though, things got a little crazy
that behringer is the one with 2 expression pedals right?
and I'll leave you canukistanians alone
hahaha.
@dzd, yeah it's got 2 expression pedals & 10 preset buttons with ten banks. I've only programmed about half the preset buttons so far (~50 presets, wow - I just realized that LOL) & it's really opened up some interesting performance/recording possibilities for me. And I know what you mean by getting "lost in reverby reversy delay/fuzz heaven for awhile…". I think that pretty much describes my whole writing/performing/recording process in a nutshell
See You In The Shadows…
p.s. We're a friendly bunch, drop by anytime you'd like
@Candle yeah that's the same one I played with briefly, awesome pedal, well that's more in the instrument category
completely frees up your hands too! Just don't twist yourself or your brain into a pretzel hah!
I always wanted to do Shoegaze. Now I guess I pretty much am LOL
I'll try not to twist myself too much, @dzd
See You In The Shadows…
@Candle haha! I'll be waiting for your tune, "you put your right foot red/left foot green/don't forget the chords/or the pre-sets on this thing"
