Hello! @Scubed Albuquerque a nice city as well, I would consider that actually Southwest I spent a lot of time there in the 80s and 90s Always loved it around the Holidays, still decent weather and all those little house fires waiting to happen :), whatever those candle in the paper sack/christmas light things are called haha.
@mike skliar hah! very true, I have somewhat gone back to work, few things here and there, but it's all outside stuff, that am usually wearing a real mask....fumes, etc so haven't been real worried. Even though this was one of the first places to "open" and now have more cases/hospitalizations than ever did in Mar/April
Came here to see who's in Texas lol San Antonio is my next stop in my journey...but not til Covid is under control. I thought there were a lot of FAWMers in TX... Come out, come out wherever you are!! Do you guys have a TX-area FAWMStock?
@writeandwrong was just recently there, not Sanantone but pretty deep south TX nonetheless(you may want to pronounce it that way if never been.... you'll still not be "local" but won't be scoffed at........ as much ).........It's a little nuttier than usual from what I witnessed/heard from some folks.
@fresh spotless youth farolitos sounds more right to what I always heard them referred to, but it was in Albuquerque.......I'd have to go with electrolitos now too hahah funny article
@JamKar I hate with a passion that I rarely let myself experience other than things that are inanimate.......... that stretch of I-35 OU/TX football weekend......probably the worlds longest traffic jam.......from Norman to Dallas.....almost entirely made up of drunken imbeciles...
@dzd haha ty for the tip! I will have to remember [email protected]! LOLOL Is there a FAWMStock of sorts somewhere in TX...or somewhere in the vicinity of San Antonio... hahaha I know it's a big state!! LOL
As far as the luminarias @fresh spotless youth mentioned above, we always just called them paper lanterns. I never heard of them as anything else...but I'm originally from Maine. There's a lot of things I've never heard of hahahahaha!
@writeandwrong nothing that I'm aware of, there's always....well most years tons of small music festivals and such all throughout TX, OK, NM, etc.....nothing big time so they tend to work as workshops/impromptu jam sessions of sorts in all the overnight festivities .......and a wider range of music than you'd expect In the springtime Fiesta, TX the festival, not the amusement park of the same name, is usually a good-time...I think its in April, I haven't been in a while, was actually in the northeast last year.......fell in love with Maine they've got the best Portland in my book
Austin Texas. Sorta neighbors.... :). Howdy!!
hey
I like Austin, kind of its own little world in the middle of Texas ....Keep it weird!
Greetings from Albuquerque, New Mexico!

In this age of social distancing, etc-- we're all a little lonely! NYC here, but its not like i'm spending time in crowds!

@dzd those paper sack lantern thingies are called luminarias or farolitos. My family went with the former, but apparently it's a matter of debate: https://www.newmexico.org/holidays/luminaria-vs-farolito/
Spent 16 years in N.M. Now live North of Denton TX. Still get the DFW traffic, so not exactly lonely.
