This is an instrumental political song! I say this because it's a piano improvisation that I played base on what I was feeling and thinking about current politics. Things are so serious I didn't have the words to express what I am feeling and so I played the piano and hoped that this would do it without words.
Here is the piece http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/45284

Here's a 'nonet' (where the first line is nine syllables, second is eight, etc) - the 'nonet' challenge is something I read about here at 50/90.
and, surprise, it ended up somewhat political...a kind of blues, if you will..

Its funny, I didn't quite mean to write so many damn political songs, but I guess its on my mind, and/or these things just kind of write themselves.
anyway.. this one is called 'show me on the doll'

Pandemic -- I should have listed this a month ago but Melbourne is STILL under curfews, house arrest, handcuffing pregnant mums in front of their kids because they posted to facebook etc. http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/43965

This one is in Greek but there's a rough translation of the lyrics. Τα μωρά της Μόριας (The babies of Moria) - about the refugee crisis in Greece and beyond.

and my first 'rap/hip-hop' song of the season (and maybe second or third ever...)

From a conversation, a comment, - then realized it could be a song, so:

This quick one is sort of vaguely political, tho it could be applied to other things too, perhaps.

my first genuine demo of the summer has arrived.
it's an updated demo, but it asks the question--

what happens to those living "other lives" under quarantine?
when your secret life changes when you're stuck inside, how do you deal?

simple, easy, streamlined demo.

Here's an optimistic, political and pandemic song. Unlike a lot of politicians who have behaved very badly I keep seeing the people in the town where I live showing daily acts of kindness and respect for others. It's a hopeful sign in the middle of everything else that's going on. http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/45796
PS It's a piano blues.

I'm honestly rather surprised at myself that I didn't write a song that fit this thread until now. My response to the Songfight challenge: Better Luck Next Year http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/46129

Both political and COVID: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/46262 Melbournes curfew has been lifted, just before the court case to test its legality started. Just love coincidences,

So I wrote and recorded one last political one for the season.. will probably go on my bandcamp album I'm working on...

COVID pandemic, lyrics written in isolation prior to 5090 (and wonderful stills and footage of the snow crows which will happen on youtube eventually) but nusic written 12 July and lost, now found so it's up: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/46354

My last song for this year. It's about only being able to be in touch with relatives via the internet and not in person. http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/46387
