From One Poem, Many Songs

I propose the following challenge to those who like setting poetry to music. Earlier in this 50/90, I wrote a song that is called "The Abbreviated Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock".

The original poem is quite lengthy and even has a quote from Dante's "Inferno" at the beginning. It's too long for most people to listen to without stopping to process. Which is where this challenge comes in. You can read the full poem here:

I propose that you create a song where your only lyrics come from sections of this classic poem. You can use only a short passage, or you can be like me and try to synthesize parts from the beginning, middle and end. If you want to focus on the etherized, drug-laden parts, pick out those sections for your song. If you want to focus on baldness, select passages for that.

Tag it: "one poem" and then post your version here for everyone to take a listen to.

Here's mine for an example:

This definitely appeals to me. Count me in, sometime soon. Thanks!

I'm excited to see what excerpts you select and what you come up with.

I thought this was a really neat idea, so I gave it a try (:

Oh, this could be fun!

Thanks for your contributions. I'm catching up today after recovering from vacation and getting ready for a new school year. I was happy to see more people rising to the occasion on this poem.
