WHAT: We'll have a song skirmish and it will go something like this:
1) At the start of the event, a title or theme will be announced.
2) All participants write and record a song to that title/theme. They have an hour to do so.
3) Participants share links to their songs. Fun and embarrassment ensues. But most importantly, one more song is written!

Be sure and tag your song and also post a link to it in this thread!

If you participate it is customary to listen to (or read) the songs of the other skirmish participants and comment!

Good luck and have fun!

just bumping so you can plan your day tomorrow! Biggrin

I'm in.

I'm in too Smile

i'm sick and cooking tomorrow, but i hope to get a lyric written to it tomorrow.

Coming up in about a half hour....

I'm excited to try this out

Wow. That was tougher than I anticipated. I wasn't able to put together too much. I did get a nifty chord progression out of it though. I was at a total loss for lyrics though.

Here's my Summer Nights chord progression.
A major F# minor G major E minor. I was going for a simple sit around the campfire type of feel.

Even though I feel like I epicly failed the challenge, I enjoyed the process.

Got one posted. I haven't got file hosting set up yet, so no demo, just lyrics. Just a simple happy summer song to whet the whistle a littlle and prime the pump Wink This was fun, thanks for the prompt.

Hey @antronthevagabond, the way I look at it...if you got something out of it it is a WIN!!! Thanks for trying the skirmish!!! Be sure and do it again!!

Thanks to everyone who participated! I think I commented on everyone's songs (as of 4:11pm my time). Felt great to skirmish again!!!

*16233 If this is how it's done. Hey! It works.

OK, a couple of verses and some ideas for now. Knowing me, I will probably never get to record it.

Here's mine ... http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/16226

I started late, but finished in under an hour. Good start to the skirmish season. Smile

Finally I got the music to the lyrics I posted a few hours ago;

You know what, I've never used that chord progression for anything. #FoodForThought

Not sure why there are two threads for one skirmish (are there?) but I was late to the party, and just wrote and recorded this..

i'm sorry, i'm too tired from being sick to check out everyone else until tomorrow. woke up, scribbled some nonsense, and now i'm back to bed. i'll catch up with y'all tomorrow.
