Thanks to the incentive from FAWM, the Kingwood Kowboy has been helped to publish volume 13 of "Real Country Lyrics" and now to go past 7300 sets of song lyrics. Many thank-you's for all your encouragement. https://www.kingwoodkowboy.com/kk_realcountrylyrics19.html

Nicely done!

@Kingwood Kowboy, I checked out your site. It sounds like you're happy for folks to make money on your lyrics, as long as you're properly listed as the lyricist?

Are you familiar with Creative Commons licenses? They are a set of licenses that allow people more options than available with traditional copyright.

In particular, you may be interested in this one: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

This would make it explicitly clear that folks are free to:
* Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
* Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

It sounds like it would legally allow exactly what you want, but there's a whole creative commons community and there are people who explicitly look for lyrics with these licenses. There are also people who advocate for things in the commons, so you might find a broader audience for your lyrics this way.

(There are "Share-Alike" licenses which require people to use the same license on derivative products. This isn't one of them.)

yam655, thanks pard, for your informative post. I will definitely look into it.

And all of your lyrics are good. Always. Congrats on a great body of work!

I think it's great what you do.

I get it, -- well, I think I do.

And, e.g., as Led Zep did on a song or two, simply "named" a surviving family member on the label/album with songwriter credit, -- so his surviving mom got paid! (If remembering that correctly)

So, why not, so to speak.

Anyway, just rabbit trail'n a bit there. Being appreciated means as much as getting paid, -- well, for me that's how it works. So, bravo to you Clapping

Music 2

Actually, I get zero. All my songwriter royalties go to my daughter. For me, it's just a fun hobby.

Heck yeah!!!! Congrats! That is an impressive body of work. Love your style and wordsmanship!

Wow! That's a lot of lyrics. I will be browsing through them (especially the island songs) to see what I might be able to put to good use. Thanks for sharing your talents with us all.

Mahalo nui loa Krayzie. One thing you will notice about my island lyrics, they are written in 'prose' instead of structured songwriting (no proper line syllable counts, rhyming schemes, etc). Those were my early endeavors and need your editing and arranging for music and singing. One afficianado of my island lyrics is Tommy Kamaka O'Pono Borges. You can listen to several of his recordings on my website and on my Reverbnation site. Ha‘ina hou ‘ia mai ana ka puana lae mau loa.

Hi Larry, I always had fun working on your songs over the years. Congratulations on this amazing achievement!

Hey Jerry. Thanks for all your past recordings of my lyrics. I really like "Boxcar On The Outbound". Keep on a-pickin' there in the Great Basin.

I just finished 100 for this FAWM. Can I quit now?

nope, you are a master!

Wow Larry, 7300 song lyrics, that's incredible (and most definitely true) mastery! You are such a prolific writer. Well, just like me with music, but my problem is that it takes me too long to go from the first sketch to a demo that I dare to share, even on 50/90 or FAWM. I'd love to create a website just like yours where every song can be found. Congratulations with your really beautiful oeuvre and website. Though I'm not in the first place a country songwriter (more quite a a typical European, prefering eclecticism), I love to flirt with the genre and I am interested to write more country sounding country songs. Are you fine with me browsing through your website and trying to put a few of your unused lyrics to music? Please don't hesitate to inspire me with a few titles of existing songs that you really dig. I'm no copycat, but it will certainly help improving my craft. Thanks a lot in advance! Smile

Wow!! Quite an accomplishment 7300 songs. You ROCK!!

Do they have a Guiness World Book record for the most number of songs written by one person in a lifetime? Hmmm!!
