THEME/PROMPT: Full Moon

Below is a kind of WordCloud of symbolic meanings associated with the moon, especially a full moon. Also a list of animals associated with the moon.

Your task is to write a song using any one – or more – of the concepts in the Moon Meanings list, using any of the words to refer to someone or a situation in your – or someone else’s – life. Or whatever.
If you can manage it, maybe bring in one of the animals as well.

You may want/need a little extra time. Give yourself 70 minutes.
And of course, feel free to take longer – or write the song later - and post your result anyway. Wink

WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN: A song skirmish. It’ll go something like this:

1) At the start of the event, I’ll announce a theme to inflame and inspire you; Smile

2) You’ll write, record, and post a song - which can also be simply a lyric or an instrumental - to that title. You have an hour to do so. If you can’t make the skirmish, it’s OK to write the song later but staying within the hour. But if you take a little longer, that’s OK too;

3) Please share links to your songs. Fun and embarrassment will ensue, but most important is that you’ll have created one more work!

Be sure to tag your song, and also post a link to it in this thread.

It’s customary to listen to (or read) and to comment on the songs of the other participants.

Please share the 50-90 love, people. Smile

Good luck, have fun, and dare to leap out of your comfort zone. REMEMBER: All skirmish pieces can be polished up later. Smile

Got it on my calendar!

I'm working from home today, so I'll definitely give a looksee - thanks Donna!

I'm in a bit of a funk - maybe this will help me out. I will try.

Thanks Donna, your skirmish and the assortment of words you recommended have given me another lyric I never would have written otherwise:

Ah I did it before the end of Aug 7. - night of the sturgeon moon

Only three contenders (so far), but what marvellous results! Smile I've seen/heard each of them, but will come back later to comment. Thanks so much for taking part. Smile

Thank you so much Donna for the inspiration and your great support. Hope you take part too.

I did one too, it just took me a couple of extra hours to get it uploaded: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/23473

I really enjoyed doing it and I'm looking forward to doing another one.

Way too late but did one anyway!

I've been going back and trying the skirmishes I missed. I did this one today: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/25055

It's just lyrics for now but I feel like you don't get the full effect of them without a full New Age soundscape treatment. Which would be EXTREMELY ambitious with my current equipment setup.
