@metalfoot is organizing a Lo-Fi corpse (http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/content/acoustic-lo-fi-corpse-anyone). Looks like this format is so popular that there are enough participants for a parallel one.

Original text:
I'm willing to organize and stitch an acoustic-based lo-fi (that is, basic production/rough demo OK) corpse, if there's anyone willing to jump into it with me!

Participants:

1. @SimonWaldram - done
2. @owl - done
3. @sph - done
4. @French Cricket - done
5. @iHelen - done
6. @marvsmooth - in Progress

Basic premises of this corpse:
1. Roughly a minute or so of music, acoustic in style, production caliber not necessary!
2. Send the final 10 sec of your section to next person on list and the whole section to me as stitcher.
3. Your music ideally should build off of whatever you heard musically/lyrically in the 10 seconds you received!
4. Have fun with it!

@owl, @French Cricket, @iHelen does anyone of you want to start? I'd like to be somewhere in the middle.

I'm in! I don't mind where. I can even start it tomorrow if you want.

Very nice! Please start @SimonWaldram

My achilles heel is intros and outros so anywhere but Wink

I will play but happy not to go first Smile

Just popped in to say yes - put me in wherever. Will check back later - gotta go for now. Smile

Wonderful! @owl, @French Cricket, @iHelen hope the positions are ok with you.

@SimonWaldram begins and sends his last 10seconds to @French Cricket and his whole part to me.

Yeah that's fine but I'm away for the weekend so probably won't see Simon's segment until Monday at the earliest. If that's a problem feel free to bump me down Wink

I will try and get my part done today but don't give up on me if I don't. I'm on it!

*raises hand* I'm in if you want me!

Welcome on bord!

@sph @french cricket I'm going to be out of town next Monday through Thursday, so it might make more sense to switch my position with French Cricket's so I can try to get to this over the weekend while she's out of town, and vice versa next week.

Sounds good: @owl and @French Cricket: I swapped positions around because I will be away from the next weekend on.

Thanks guys

Right, my part is done. I've sent the last 10 seconds to @Owl and the whole thing to @sph Smile

Team LoFi is moving fast!

We are the best!

No need to be too quick @iHelen - I'm at work in less than an hour!

My part is done and sent to @marvsmooth & @sph Music 2

Wow. Corpse 2 is going to be done before Corpse 1!

@metalfoot - fingers crossed... I'm not off until Wednesday, so I hope I can find time before then.

@marvsmooth All I can say is Corpse 2 is a bunch of overachievers! Corpse 1 isn't moving SLOWLY at all, y'all are in warpdrive!

I wrote the piece yesterday, but am just waiting for the time to record it!

I'm really looking forward to hearing the completed thing.

Take your time - everything's cool while travelling in superluminal velocity

TBH I deliberately tried to write it as fast as possible to capture a lofi sensibility. Remember that when you hear my section!

Ha! Me too. It was semi-improvised, no overdubs.

Yeah, me three. No overdub on mine. One ukulele and one voice, recorded at the same time. One track. Very simple. Very lo-fi. Smile

One Take, one cavaquinho, one voice in the kitchen...

Done

Sorry...

Double tracked uke on GarageBand with a vocal.

I'm such a cheat, but the soprano ukulele was too quiet. I usually play the tenor these days!

OK I admit it I overdubbed a guitar, 2 guitars

Fine, I'll come clean...I hired the London Philharmonic Orchestra to play on my part.

Please check for ukuleles, philharmonic orchestras, guitars, voices, cheeseburgers, the smith and the ocean, disintegration etc.

Here it is!!!

This is SO GOOD!

Love it! It's so neat and interesting to hear the styles and discover how they connect. Thank you all! Clapping

There's so much to discover!

Thanks for putting this together Stephan! Smile

Great work sph! I have to admit, I laughed at my wet blanketness in the middle of all the fun stuff about Johnny Marr, octopuses and cheeseburgers

Your part is great though!

Thanks - It's all good - I really like how it has a flow to it

Me too. All the parts work together really well. I love the lyrical journey of it as well.

For me the whole thing has a nice flow.
All the transitions do work very well - it was super easy to stitch this e.g. going from "As I watch you from below" to "But I can't keep looking up" connected by the Bowie-like "2 3 4" count-in or @iHelen's "please pick me up" picked up by @marvsmooth

It was really nicely done-- our first corpse isn't quite as transitionally sound as yours but I'll do my best.
