Take Me To The End

Lyrics:

Take me to the end, my friend,
Take me to the end, my friend,

This is the beginning,
Beginning of it all,
Stepped off the carriage,
Cause I need so much more,
I feel a hunger in my bones,
Riding with me,
That takes me to the edge,
Of my god damn sanity,

Take me to the end, my friend,
Take me to the end, my friend,

This is the beginning,
Beginning of my life,
I put in all the hours,
Under the sun and sky,
So I need to feel the movement,
A break in the wind,
To put one foot forward,
Lift myself up again,

Take me to the end, my friend,
Take me to the end, my friend,

There is only beginnings,
Till I rest in the ground,
Its just a matter of moving,
Or sitting back down,

Take me to the end, my friend,
Take me to the end, my friend,

Interesting write. The song is crammed full of travelling imagery, yet the protagonist steps off the carriage in the first verse. "It's just a matter of moving / or sitting back down" might resolve things - is this truly the beginning of a new journey, or is this really a song about coming to rest and awaiting the inevitable end?

I like the upbeat rhythm in this one, which gives the song an easy, hopeful vibe. The chorus reminds us that there is an end to every journey, but I like how the verses explore the infinite beginnings you experience along the way. Nice one.
